Perfect Stranger

Ever had that moment out of the blue when you got a help from total stranger?
Well mine happened a few hours ago. I lost my part time job for some suspicious reasons, and I feel my confidence is running low at that time. (It's a cleaner job for God sake!, how stupid can you be getting fired from that kind of job?). I lost any desire to cook for dinner so I decided to get some at a local KFC. Just after I'm about to finished my dinner, a old bearded guy behind me called "So how's life in Phillipines?". I said, "no no I'm not a Phillipines, I'm an Indonesian".

His face brighten at my response and he said "Apa kabar?" I found out that he's actually a malaysian guy who have lived in UK for quite some time. And he's very happy he could find someone who could speak malay. We chatted for some time, and after a while I realized that he have a very positive attitude towards life. After I told him about my misfortune on the part time job, he immediately said not to worry. Forget about it and look ahead, find another job. He then told me his stories about his efforts to find a job when he first came here. Suddenly I don't feel so bad anymore. Is it just amazing how I could find someone who's so positive when I feel really negative. He even gave me the job vacancy section of his newspaper. After a while his daughter called and ready to picked him out. We said goodbye and he told me to contact him if I need any help.

I walked home feeling much better. God bless that man.

Today I finished all my assigments. This last one is not so convincing though, I'm not really sure about the result. Oh well, l hope I'll pass.
Have a satisfying dinner tonight at Newcastle. This Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet is something else. It's cheap and the food tastes great. Get my hands at anything I could eat (that means no pork) and end it with a bowl of ice cream..

Back at Sunderland, I stop at the student bar to catch Portugal - England game. Sorry to say it's a pretty crap match, eventhough it has some moments..

anyway, I only got until the end of this week of free time before I started the second semester..got to make full use of it.

In the mean time.. I got this offer to work as a internet radio dj, which sounds like a lot of fun

oh well, some recap on this week. Job started on Monday, wonderful thing is, it's holiday, so there's not much to do there. Today is the last day of assignments deadline *yaaay!*. It's good to have a nice rest for a day or two. Second part start 23 of February, I only got like 3 days of break..

3. Totally ignorant people yang males baca beberapa page sebelumnya dan malah nanya, "eh, maksudnya apa sih?"
4. Long but unparagraph posting. bikin males bacanya
5. Girls that post in football forum ONLY because this or that player is good looking.
6. Bales postingan orang cuma buat bilang.."wah gak tau tuh", padahal bukan nanya ke dia. Kalo gak tau ngapain juga bales?

12 More Days

12 more days it'll all be over.
No more assignments, no more homework.
Just plain nothing. Ahh. how I long for those days..

I've got to tell you, the job seeking thingy is not working well. I don't know what's wrong to be honest.
I've tried to apply almost any job I could find at the Job Center, but still no avail.
The employment agencies that supposed to help me is producing shit either. I went there to ask if there are any job for but they give me nothing. Claiming that there aren't any job available. Two employment agency and both can't come with a part time job for a student who practically willing to do anything. I thought I would be an easy target for those minimum-wage-employer-seeking company. The thought of that they did not want to hire me because of my name had crept at back of my mind. But I got rid of that thought, I got no proof at all and that just make me sound like a complete tosser who try to find a scapegoat his own failure. My best guess is I failed at the interview, must look much more confident, and keep eye contact with the interviewer.
And there's this thing about National Insurance Number, one interviewer said I had to have a NIN before I could apply for any job in UK, but the department who issue NIN said that they couldn't give me an NIN if I do not have any job. Crap bureaucracy ..

To those who'll go the TOTO concert tomorrow, lucky bastard you all.. I hate you guys, I really do!!

It just arrive yesterday, but I haven't have the chance to check it out, blame it on this damn friday-deadline assignment

Celebration! and other things

Just got back from celebrating Ied Al Adha with some people here. They're great, though still can not be compare with celebrating with family back home. By the way, I finally taste some spicy food at the mosque . Thank God for emigrated Indians. They're the majority of the muslim community here, so they get the final say regarding the meal. Spicy cooked meat, which reminds me of "rendang", and some tortilla-like bread,..*yummy*. Let's admit it, English food are generally sucks. They got no taste in it, just plain bland.

I just read the blog of a long time friend way back at campus. I never thought he had one to be honest. One of his post contains the lyrics that all time personal favorite, If You're Gone. I think I haven't heard that song for about a year. *added the song to the winamp list*. Reminds me of some time in the past.. and the present..

Note to self, remember to call Sylvia again for that cleaning job. Money is reaching all time low, I got to get a job soon.
