Another after work post

Since I'm in the 'quote posting' mood for the last weeks, I shall continue with another quote. I few months back, I post this quote from a friend:

"our emotions aren't simple reactions to events, they colour the whole process of perceiving and judging events"

Well, since that's perfectly valid, I was wondering whether anyone have the capability of removing all of his/her emotion when making a judgement. Even in courts of law, where jury have to make decisions on presented evidence, lawyers put great lengths to make sure that the jury and the judge sympathize with them and their clients.

I obviously can't to be honest. And I don't think it's possible either. Emotions comes with being human. No matter what, you tend to have certain level of bias, especially for things you're passionate about. That's why I think we should hear what our heart saying a bit more. Because deep down, I think any sane human actually know what they supposed to do, the problem is, they just don't act on it. There's this line from "The Wedding Crasher" that said,
"Scientist said that we only use 10% of our brain, but I think we only use 10% of our heart"

Cheers

Quotes

"Love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking together in the same direction."
"Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction."

Get in Touch With My Sensitive side

Won't say I love you
Won't say I care
It's what I do,
That's really matter

It's things that you don't say
Which speaks louder than ever
Even when we far away
We've never been closer

People That Makes a Difference

Got this from a friend's blog

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winner for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz.

See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

Why fought a losing battle?

This is one of those I-think-the-world-is-crap post you all have seen frequently in this blog. Well, if you're bored with this, then you could fuck off to another blog. And please close the door on the way out.

So to answer the above question, most people do it because in the end of the tunnel, they see the bright light, no matter how far and small that light is. When presented with hope, most people will try to achieve it. Even the most sceptical ones

But the thing is, there are still things that are not in our control. No matter how hard you try, what you set out to do will fail, because of that uncontrollable factors. I'm not telling you that we shouldn't try, it's just when you put so much effort, and still don't achieve what you want, the disappointment is hard to avoid. It's perfectly natural though, as long as you don't dwell on it.

Heh, it's not the I-think-the-world-is-crap post anyway, well that's all

Better

beautiful things they never stay, oh, the same way
they pass, oh they pass away, they always change
who are we is who we are
when the act of love can get us so far
so good i wish you would
think twice on me
cuz it only gets better
