Afterwork posts

What to write.. what to write..

It's 16:40 and my head is killing me, and my eyes are tired. Still a long way to go home.. so I'm stuck with staring at the monitor and listening to Jason Mraz's Wordplay.

Watch a few movies in the last few weeks. Coincidentally both include Christian Bale. The first is an interesting story about loss, guilt and redemption in The Machinist. Here, Bale played as a man who haven't sleep in a year. Good movie, although the end was a bit meh.. but still good nonetheless. The interesting part is, for this movie Bale shed almost half his normal weight and at 6'2" he weight just 60 kg for the role. His skeleton looks were creepy, and I was suprised that 5 months later, he managed to bulk up for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Begins.

I become a new fan of Bale, because this is the first time someone managed to play both side of the character perfectly. The movie itself was excellent, great story and acting from the casts. Batman Begins is a story of loss guilt and redemption.. oh wait, I said that before already didn't I? Well it's true..although in a completely different way, both movies have the same issues told. Bruce Wayne guilt and loss drive him to become the city greatest champion. Bale said in an interview, that Batman is Bruce Wayne redemption. His way of dealing with the lost of his parents, as well as living up to his family legacy.

Anyway.. 17:40 now, headache is beginning to fade, but I have no doubt that it will come back again when I start working again..

fire away.. or as Adam West said in the old Batman TV series: "Same bat-site, same bat-url"

ugh.. that was bad..

Can't get this out of my head

Wordplay
Jason Mraz

I've been all around the world
I've been a new sensation
But it doesn't really matter
In this generation
The sophomore slump is an uphill battle
And someone said that ain't my scene
'Cause they need a new song
Like a new religion
Music for the television
I can't do the long division
Someone do the math
For the record label puts me on the shelf up in the freezer
Got to find another way to live the life of leisure
So I drop my top
Mix and I mingle
Is everybody ready for the single and it goes...

(chorus)
Ha La La La La
Now listen closer to the verse I lay
(Ha La La La La)
It's all about the wordplay
(Ha La La La Love)
The wonderful thing it does
Because, because
I am the wizard of ooh's and ah's and fa-la-la's
Yeah the Mister A-Z
They say I'm all about the wordplay

And it's time to get ill I got your remedy
For those who don't remember me
Well let me introduce you to my style
I try to keep a jumble
And the lyrics never mumble
When the music's makin' people tongue-tied
You want a new song
Like a new religion
Music for the television
I can't do the long division
Someone do the math
For the people write me off like I'm a one-hit wonder
Got to find another way to keep from goin' under
Pull out the stops
Got your attention
I guess it's time again for me to mention
The wordplay

(chorus)

I built a bridge across the stream of consciousness
It always seems to be a flowin'
But I don't which way my brain is goin'
Oh the ryhmin' and the timin'
Keeps the melodies inside me
And they're comin'
Til I'm running out of air
Are you prepared to take a dive into the deep end of my head
Are you listening to a single word I've said

Ha La La La La
Listen closer to the words I say
Ha La La La La
I'm stickin' to the wordplay
Ha La La La Love
The wonderful thing it does
Because, because
I am the wizard of ooh's and ah's and fa-la-la's
Yeah the Mister A-Z
They say I'm all about the wordplay

Ha La La La La
I'm all about the wordplay
Ha La La La La
Stickin' with the wordplay
Ha La La La Love
I love the wonderful thing it does
Because, because
The ooh's and ah's and fa-la-la's i'm back in love
For the Mister A-Z they say
Is all about the wordplay

Nice Quote

"Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."

Song of the week

Jumper
Third Eye Blind

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
You could cut ties with all the lies,
that you've been living in,
And if you do not want to see me again,
I would understand.
I would understand,
The angry boy,
a bit too insane,
Icing over a secret pain,
You know you don't belong,
You're the first to fight,
You're way too loud,
You're The flash of light,
On a burial shroud,
I know something's wrong,
Well everyone I know has got a reason,
To say, put the past away,

I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
You could cut ties with all the ties,
That you've been living in,
And if you do not want to see me again,
I would understand,
I would understand.
Well he's on the table,
And he's gone to code,
And I do not think anyone knows,
What they are doing here,
And your friends have left,
You've been dismissed,
I never thought it would come to this,
And I, I want you to know,
Everyone's got to face down the demons,

Maybe today,
We can put the past away,
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
You could cut ties with all the lies, that you've been living in,

And if you do not want to see me again,
I would understand,
I would understand,
I would understand . . .
Can you put the past away,
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
I would understand...
